Websol To Scale Up Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Capacity in India

According to a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing, Websol’s board has approved expansion of its cell line capacity by 100 MW, bringing the company’s total cell line capacity to almost 300 MW. The BSE filing also stated that an expansion of its module line capacity by 150 MW was also approved bringing its module line capacity to 250 MW.

The company has placed an order for a 250 MW automated module line from vendors including -Eternal Sun/Spire Solar, Yingkou Jinchen Machinery Co., and Wuxi Autowell Supply Chain Management Co. Commercial production for the line is expected to start in October 2017.

The light of the 5100SLP Blue contains 300nm-400nm and 1100-1200nm, to ensure PERC, IBC and HJT PV modules absorb the maximum possible amount of sunlight. Combined with the single long pulse technology, which goes up to 130ms with the 5100, there are almost no corrections needed when measuring the PV technologies of the future. For Websol the expansion is an important step in their development as a solar production facility. “The 5100SLP Blue delivers accurate and repeatable power measurements, enabling traceability to international gold module standards certified by the world’s leading certification bodies. Accuracy and traceability is value for module production facilities like Websol” according to Stefan Roest, CTO of Spire Solar.

The 5100SLP Blue, which is the successor of the 4600SLP, received an IEC 60904-9 Class A+A+A+ classification for spectrum, spatial uniformity, and temporal stability. This advanced class, not yet integrated into the current IEC standard, has been defined by TÜV Rheinland as having a performance two times better than the IEC Class AAA for each of the parameters.
